Arcane Magic
Why, hello there little kit, do come closer, it can be a bit hard to see you without my spectacles.
Arcane magic has had a storied history steeped in mysticism. Many a Storkie has argued over it's validity of it being a magic type, or it's worthiness in the Storkatten pantheon; but, still, it remains. It is hard to argue with the fact that kits are born with this lovely magic every day, is it not?
Now, now, we won't get too fussy about what others have said, if you're here you have an eagerness to learn, and I'm happy to teach you. Arcane Magic covers a wide variety of things, ranging from simple telekinesis to more advanced things like divination, tarot readings, and sight beyond sight.
What do we do? Well, we do a little bit of everything. We're scholars, at our core; we read, we study, we learn. We understand the power of the mind, and we aren't afraid to throw ourselves at whatever we wish to learn.

Domain
In short, what does Arcane Magic cover?
As Etelle goes on to state, Arcane Magic covers a little bit of everything.
Arcane Magic is the domain of scholars, with the strict belief that if you put your mind to it, anything is magical, and you can do any magical thing you want. While you may need some extra time to learn the things the other magical schools can learn, nothing is beyond your limits.
There are three core magical traits of Arcane Storkies
Additionally, cats pursuing Arcane magic should know how to read and write Arcana, the common written language of Storkatten. Many, but not all Arcane students, are intellectuals.
Through these merits, Arcane magic covers even more ground in terms of what they can do, including....
Alternate Domain I (Forbidden)
Those afflicted with this form of alternate Arcane are known as 'The Scholars Who Found Something They Shouldn't Have' for lack of a better term. Those born with Alternate Arcane Eyes will find themselves with an affinity for dark arts, dabbling in the arcane that most mages turn away from, for fear of becoming corrupt themselves.
Alternate Domain II (Rift)
This form of Arcane magic has a talent for ripping holes into reality - the rifts that it takes its name from. Unlike other Arcane mages, they may be able to open rifts to travel between locations with little effort, and it's not unheard of for small rifts to be opened by Novices excited to travel to a destination.
This version of Arcane magic tends to present in blue-purples, sometimes with a swirled pupil that resembles rifts themselves in a lighter purple than the iris.

- Magical intervention to grow plants
- Magical healing of wounds through vast studying of anatomy

- Moving bodies of earth and dirt using telekinesis
- Mimicking lightning with arcane bolts

Leveling Guide
Novice: Default Level
We all start somewhere, and here you are; a fresh Arcane student! As a Novice Arcane Magician, you are still learning the meanings of each tarot card; you may still be searching for the Pendulum your magic vibes with, and your telekinesis is very weak. Things you are able to manipulate must be feather light, and require significant amounts of concentration. You haven't quite yet grasped the basics of Arcane Magic, but you'll get there!
Access to the Divine Accessory Minor Magic Expression
Advanced: Unlocked at 60 MP
Look at you! Passing your very first Arcane Tests, you're now an Advanced Arcane Magician. You're getting the hang of your craft, and you probably have figured out some of your tools; at least the ones you want to use in this moment. Meanings of the cards are understood on a basic level and you can read them with moderate success. While it takes you a bit, you're starting to grasp how to read charms and pendulums, too. Your telekinesis is getting stronger, and you can hold things up to one pound with relative ease, though still not for very long. It's getting easier to do so, with less concentration, though. You're starting to learn the basics of Arcane magic, good work! Keep going!
Adept: Unlocked at 120 MP
After many long moons of study, you've finally reached Adept Arcane Magic. As an Adept Magician in the Arcane Arts, you're really starting to feel comfortable with your craft. Tarot readings are going quite smoothly for you, and your other forms of divination are going just as strong. You may have also started picking up secondary Arcane adaptations, such as learning how to grow plants, or dabbled in telepathy. This is the stage many Arcane scholars really start to bloom and make their magic their own, and branch out from the core magics. Your telekinesis is very strong and it is nearly effortless to perform. You are above your peers in Arcane magic.
As a leveling reward, you may claim a Gift or Accessory from Etelle.
Master: Unlocked at 180 MP
As a Master Arcane Magician, the amount of Arcane Knowledge you have is massive. Divination in all it's forms are second nature to you in the reading department. You very likely have picked up secondary Arcane abilities, of which you have honed and made your own. Your telekinesis is strong and effortless, with only the most grandiose of feats requiring your true concentration. While many may stop, you know that even as Master, your work is never truly done as you continue to seek knowledge in the everyday things you find magic in. You are what many Arcane Storkatten strive to be.
As a leveling reward, you may claim a pair of Reroll Runes; these will allow you to completely reroll the results of a breeding, should the results not please you. Alternatively, you may claim another Gift or Accessory from Etelle.

History
In the beginning, when Storkatten were first born, there wasn't many types of magic like you see today. In fact, Storkatten weren't all that magical! Some of us were blessed with the magic of the elements, that's where you get your fire, water, earth, and air magic, of course; others were blessed by the gods. That's where you get your lunar, solar, life, and death magics. But those were few and far between. Some Storkies questioned if there were other ways to get magic; or other magics in the first place. And so, we took to books.
We didn't have many books in the early days, but, that didn't stop us from writing them, and reading what we could find. Most Storkatt were content using simple runes to tell stories to one another, but, early Arcane Scholars wanted different ways to tell stories. Complex stories. They wanted to tell tales not just of what exists but what could exist; they wanted to tell tales of what couldn't exist.
And, so, Arcane scholars developed a second written language, the main written language us Storkatten use today, the Arcana language. While it may not seem groundbreaking now, at the time it was revolutionary. Complex concepts were able to be expressed much more easily with this new language. Not every cat welcomed the change, of course; some likened it to heresy against those who wanted to stick to Runes. Some Storkatten insisted on 'picking sides' and drawing lines in the sand that needn't be there.
However, eventually, they all came around, and Runes and Arcana could exist side by side. After the founding of Arcana, many of those who wrote the language wanted to expand their intellectual pursuits, and they began theorizing on the power of the mind. Through concentrated effort, several of the scholars found out they were able to move objects with their minds!
From there, the floodgates of Arcane Magic were opened; and cats began scrambling to figure out how they could use their mind for magic. Even those who were skeptical of it's validity at the time gave it a try, and many were eager to discover this new thing; telekinesis. With so many cats trying out the new magic, it's no wonder that several different 'forms' of Arcane magic were discovered.
There was the Tarot that was discovered, cards that could be imbued with your Arcane Magic to provide insight to the past, present and future. That was a popular one, though it went on to be debated if it was Rune or Arcane magic. In the end, it was decided it was Arcane magic, though, as Rune magicians just could not figure out how to read them the way an Arcane cat could.
Then there came handwriting analysis; reading a cat's personality through their writing of Arcana or Rune. It's a rather fascinating art, to be honest, I - it's one of my favorites. I do love reading the letters I get from friends, but - that's off the subject, isn't it? Hoo, apologies dearie.
Then there came divination, and pendulum readings, and all forms of minor fortune telling. Back then, many cats didn't have access to those with Lunar or Time magic; so, Arcane magicians were what they had to rely on.... but that's for another time, certainly.
As time went on, of course, more forms of Arcane Magic were discovered.... and we've always had a turbulent past with the other schools of magic. Many don't appreciate the knowledge that we can do what they do, by studying and putting our minds to it. Death magicians aren't particularly happy that there are subsects of Arcane Necromancers out there, using Arcana to summon the dead out of the pits of the Abyss. Lunar Magicians aren't keen on us being able to divine without the use of the moon. And so on..... but, I like to look at Arcane Magic this way;
There's a little bit of everything in Arcane Magic; and there's a little bit of Arcane in every magic type out there. I think, it's important to celebrate our similarities, rather than our differences, wouldn't you agree?
Now, take a cookie before you go dearie.
