Rune magic is, at its core, deeply understanding other magic types.
This means that Rune magic allows for the creation of enchantments. This may take the form of small enchantments to speed healing, or more complex enchantments that cause mutations in other Storkatten.
The most impressive form of this, however, is the ability of Rune magic to create enchantments that allow others to deepen their understanding of their own magic - or even start learning a completely new type of magic!
With this, it could be said that Rune is the other side of Arcane - whereas Arcane centers study, Rune centers creation of items that hold the purpose of being studied.
Rune magic can do, including but not limited to, the following:

- Identification of ancient or naturally-occurring runes
- Innate understanding of Runic scripts, including those of long dead languages
- Use runes to do any of the following:
- Strengthen building materials
- Create magical shields over a specific area
- Kickstart the learning of a specific magic
- Contain small amounts of magic, essentially acting as a battery
- Identify the born magic type of any Storkat, including kits who have not yet opened their eyes
- Alter the physical traits of a Storkat
- Alter the fertility of a Storkat

Those with Rune magic have grey or stony brown eyes. The pupil may be any valid color of the Common and Rare magics found within that species. It should be round. The sclera should be white, unless the Dark Sclera trait is present.

Leveling Guide
Novice: Default Level
You're just beginning to learn Runic script, and even basic enchantments take a significant amount of time and work. You have the ability to crate minor utility enchantments. These have near unnoticeable effects, are limited to one user, and may do many things such as provide in increase in strength, speed, or rate of healing. However, they are short-lived and fragile.
Access to the Divine Accessory Minor Magic Expression
Advanced: Unlocked at 100 MP
Your understanding of Runic script is growing, and you've begun learning the mechanics of other magic to enhance your runes. With this new understanding, you have the knowledge required to instruct others in Basic magics. However, you are not skilled enough to increase their understanding beyond Novice.
In addition, your new knowledge has increased the power of your utility enchantments. They may now provide more noticeable effects, and may last for longer periods of time.
Adept: Unlocked at 200 MP
You've achieved some fluency in Runic script, and creating enchantments has become much easier. You now have the knowledge required to instruct others in the use of Rare magics, and may assist in advancing those who use Basic or Rare magic to the level of an Advanced magician.
Your utility enchantments have increased in power enough to allow for them to effect a small area. This may mean that a small radius will obtain whatever boon the enchantment grants, or could mean you're experimenting with strengthening building materials or creating magic shields. Your enchantments have an even longer lifespan, but still regularly need refreshed or repaired.
Master: Unlocked at 300 MP
You have achieved near-perfect fluency in Runic script, and creating enchantments is almost second nature. You have the knowledge required to instruct Limited, Rare, and Basic magicians up to the level of an Adept magician.
Your utility enchantments can effect a much larger area than before, provide great boons to those affected, and may last much longer without your consistent upkeep.
